About the Artist @ThirteenEight
Welcome to ThirteenEight Art! Tom is a mixed media artist specialising in spray paint and printmaking based in the UK, creating bold, imperfect art that mixes street style with studio craft. From stencil work and abstract sprays to lino cuts and hand-pulled prints, everything is rooted in creative exploration and DIY energy.
After years of juggling work and art, Tom made the leap to open The Studio @ThirteenEight in Gosport, a space that’s part working studio, part art shop, and part creative hub. It’s where he makes his own work, runs workshops, and helps others to explore new techniques through hands-on learning.
ThirteenEight's inspiration comes from street culture, pop nostalgia, and the raw, imperfect nature of handmade art. Tom believes creativity should be accessible, expressive, and fun - not polished or perfect.
If you’re looking to buy original art online, book a workshop, or get in touch about a commission, you’re in the right place.
Thank you for supporting independent art. Follow along, join a workshop, or come visit the studio - creativity lives here.

Tom Roberts
The man behind the art
I’ve always been creative. I studied film and photography at university, then spent years in digital and graphic design before trading pixels for paint. Now, I work primarily with spray paint, stencils, lino printing and whatever else sparks an idea. My art blends rebellion, nostalgia, and street influence with a love for bold colour, mental health themes, and pop culture references - created mostly with instinct, because plans usually go out the window.
I’m mostly self-taught, but the real turning point came when my wife encouraged me to stop second-guessing myself and just create. Her belief in me gave me the push to turn my creative practice into something real.
ThirteenEight started with that mindset - a place to make, share, and connect. I never set out to open a public-facing studio, but when the chance came up to turn a space into a creative hub, I took it. Now, I sell my work, run hands-on workshops, and stock materials you can’t easily find in Gosport, all under one roof. Dogs are welcome in the studio (mine are usually snoozing in the corner), and so is anyone who wants to make art, no matter their experience.
Whether you’re here to paint, print, browse, or just hang out, the studio is a space where creativity is casual, expression is messy, and perfection isn’t the goal. I want people to feel free, inspired, and at home here because that’s what art’s always been for me.
