Butterfly
Wild. Beautiful. Colourful. Imperfect.
The Stanley Park Butterfly is an interactive piece of public art created by ThirteenEight for Stanley Park, Gosport — designed to be photographed, shared and enjoyed by everyone who visits the park.

Become Part of the Butterfly
The Stanley Park Butterfly was designed with one thing missing — you.
Stand between the wings, take your photo and make the butterfly your own. Then share it on Instagram using #StanleyParkButterfly.
Every photograph adds another person, another moment and another story to the artwork.
Imperfect by Design
Butterflies are known for their symmetry. Look a little closer at this one, though, and you'll notice that the two wings aren't quite the same.
That's deliberate.
The Stanley Park Butterfly isn't supposed to be perfect, because neither are we.
Life is wild, beautiful, colourful and imperfect. Things don't always match. Plans change. We make mistakes. We grow, adapt and become something different along the way.
The butterfly celebrates those imperfections rather than trying to hide them.
So when you stand between its wings, you don't need to be perfect either. Just be you.
Creativity Without Limits.
Made Possible by Friends of Stanley Park
The Stanley Park Butterfly was made possible through funding from Friends of Stanley Park, a local community group dedicated to supporting, improving and celebrating Stanley Park.
Their support helps make projects like this possible — bringing creativity into the park and creating new reasons for people to visit, enjoy and connect with the space.
A huge thank you to Friends of Stanley Park for supporting the project and giving the butterfly somewhere to land.
