Home-Ed Art Classes in Gosport

We're building a friendly, skills-focused programme for home-educated children and young people in the Gosport and surrounding areas. Expect small groups, clear learning outcomes, and heaps of creativity across drawing, printmaking, collage, and safe, supervised spray-paint techniques. Who We Are

I'm Tom Roberts - the mixed-media artist behind ThirteenEight Art and The Studio@ ThirteenEight in Gosport. I specialise in spray paint, printmaking, and hands-on workshops that make art accessible and exciting for all ages. Together with my wife Ellie, we've turned The Studio @ThirteenEight into a welcoming space for learning, exploration and community, running popular sessions like Doodle Club, Lino Printing, and pop-up spray painting booths. 

What We Offer

We run short, structured blocks and easy drop-ins designed for Home-Ed families in Gosport. Sessions balance freedom and clear learning goals so young artists (ages 7–16) can experiment, build skills and make work they’re proud of. All current classes are listed below.

The kinds of things we do:
• Mixed-media making — collage, paint, layering and texture play
• Printmaking — monoprint, foam/relief, collagraph, Lego printing, and guided screen printing (water-based inks)
• Drawing & illustration — sketching skills, character design, storyboarding and comics
• Design & graphics — sticker lab, posters, simple typography, zines and mini publications
• Portfolio & presentation — mounting, titling, photographing work and gentle reflection
• Seasonal specials — outdoor stencil/spray-paint tasters when weather permits

Small-group promise
We keep groups small (typically 6-8) for calm, personal support. Blocks come with clear week-by-week aims, take-home work and optional certificates—ideal for portfolio evidence. We also run low-key showcases so families can celebrate progress together.

Safety & setup
All materials are provided. We use water-based inks/paints and age-appropriate tools. The Studio @ThirteenEight is run by Tom who holds a current enhanced DBS checks, and the studio has CCTV for safeguarding.
